About

Tine Bladbjerg was born in Denmark where she grew up as well as in China and Belgium. After finishing school, she moved to England to study Jewellery Design at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Rochester and while there she did work placements at De Vroomen Design and County Classics Jewellers in London and moved to Paris for six months where she trained and worked for Cartier.

After graduating from college in 1996 Tine decided to become a self-employed designer jeweller and moved into her first workshop in the Clerkenwell area in London.  During the first few years after setting up the business she also worked as a jewellery designer for Garrard & Co. and D.A.Soleys  but decided to concentrate fully on her own work in 2000.

In 2004 Tine moved her workshop to Crystal Palace, Southeast London and in 2017 she opened her shop, A L’Etage 2, where she sells work by over 100 Artists and Craftsmen. She makes her jewellery in the workshop behind the shop along with her apprentice, Kitty, who she took on after becoming a Freeman of the Goldsmiths’ Company in 2021. She creates simple and elegant sculptural pieces for both special occasions and everyday wear. Her work has featured in both local and national publications. Each item is unique, hand-made from high quality precious metals, and often set with precious stones.

Tine has also won several awards at the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Competition, the latest a Silver prize in March 2025 and in April 2025 she became a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths. Since 1996 she has exhibited at over 270 shows.
